A Houseboat Adventure at Mandurah Despite some adverse weather our trip on Clancy was an absolute success. We were impressed with our reception and training in Mandurah and the cleanliness and well equipped state of the houseboat. The sleeping facilities were very comfortable and better than some motels we've stayed in. Our trip took us down to Port Bouvard and using the navigation system with preset courses made everything relatively easy. The Port Manager at Port Bouvard Marina was very helpful in showing us where to berth given the strong northerly wind. We had dinner in the restaurant immediately adjacent to the berth and the food was excellent. Our next leg was to the Murray River where we stayed the night at Pelican Cafe and then visited Coopers Mill the next morning where John, the resident caretaker, showed us around. The Murray River is incredible and should be on everyone's list of places to see. Dredging in the river-mouth made the trip more interesting from a navigation perspective and was well communicated to us by both Mandurah Houseboats and the Dredge Manager. We will certainly be going back for another trip and recommend it to anyone with a sense of adventure looking for something quite different from a car trip.

Three nights and four days in paradise I couldn’t say which was my favorite part, it was all just beautiful. We had a four day getaway on Lifestyle houseboat. We traveled as far up the Murray River as we could go then turned and slowly made our way back down to the river mouth and out into the peel Inlet. We spent two of the nights moored in beautiful spots along the river and the 3rd at a mooring near the river mouth. The river is beautiful all the way and the scenery changes from heavily treed, rural farmland to lovely settlements along the river. The diversity makes it interesting all the way. We caught crabs from the houseboat on our last morning, cooked and ate them for lunch. All in all a beautiful experience.

A wonderful 2 night houseboat cruise in Mandurah WA We returned from our 2 night trip yesterday and we thoroughly enjoyed the trip. The houseboat we had was clean and tidy and very comfortable. It had all the mod cons on board. For us it was our first time so we took it very easy and did not put ourselves under any pressure, we tied up in one place as our skipper was not confident in turning the vessel. To over come this I recommend that Mandurah Houseboats take as the first step is to get the skipper to practice turning the vessel both clockwise 180 degrees and anti clockwise 180 degrees 2-3 times to drive the skill home and then proceed with the induction. Our skip did not master this skill and spent the rest of the induction worrying out how she was going to go at the parking areas along the rivers. One other thing I would recommend this that Mandurah Houseboats install metal plates that act a walkway from the vessel to the jetty as the houseboats do move about when tied to the jetties along the way. This would reduce risk of an injury and provide surety for those who are infirm when it comes to getting on and off the vessel. Installing such plates will also reduce risk of liability issues. All in all we had a wonderful time and in the fullness of time its our aim to go again and perhaps stay out on the water a night or two longer.

Fantastic trip and relax Right from the start you just know it’s right and this was. We went out for 3 days on Clancy. Clean tidy and all you needed. Not tired inside or out. A big thank you to Alan for his familiarisation tour and he is available 24-7 for guidance or any assistance needed. We enjoyed it so, so much that we landed back and booked again for later in the year. Well recommend. Thank you. Once you get the hang of it, driving it, from that point it is chill out, enjoy and relax. Very forgiving and don’t be daunted by the size of them. We were first timers. There is GPS on board which allows for easy navigation. Thank you so much. Mark and Karen

Wonderful mini holiday in beautiful Mandurah Took our two grandkids (5 & 7) & two friends on Quicksilver 21-23 Jan and we all loved it. The boat was spotless and comfortable. It has a spa which was a huge hit. Two toilets which is great. Excellent provisioning of crockery, cutlery and glassware. Our only issue was that the kids bunk-room was not air-conditioned and the nights were very hot. We transferred the kids to the lounge to sleep and that worked well. It wouldn't be possible to aircon the kids room as no space. The boat is all glass so it's a heat magnet. But the lounge and other two rooms had air-con so that was bliss as the only openable windows in the bedrooms are small and above head height. Mandurah Houseboats was very efficient and obliging. This was our 4th hire with them over 30 years. Caught lots of crabs which was a first for the kids. Saw dolphins, swans, ducks, pelicans.

SURPRISE 80TH BIRTHDAY Our family group of seven hired the "Hakuna Matata" for 3 days. This boat appeared to be - maybe the oldest in the fleet - it has reached the stage when much has to be spent on the craft to rejuvenate it. Some of it's outside wear & tear appears to have been caused by maltreatment by previous customers. The inside of the boat however was clean & functional. with ample cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils, first aid kit, etc., etc. Three members of our family had years of experience driving pleasure & work vessels. They were pleased with the operation of the twin outboards. The provision of a GPS made plotting & running the day's course very easy. The houseboat provided opportunities for tying up near restaurants/ hotels. The ambience on the river was beautiful & the whole trip very relaxing. Staff were very helpful & courteous.

Family holiday the best We had a fabulous family holiday with the big kids seeing a new area of WA and the little ones seeing Dolphins, ducks, swans and so much more. The little ones had play areas at nearly every stop so this kept them happy. The adults loved just relaxing and watching the world go buy. Such a beautiful part of the Mandurah area some would not know was there. Will do again thank you for this great way of enjoying the water.
